I have never suffered with dry skin. That is of course until I moved to climate that has very harsh winter weather and has extremely dry air.
My face was painful it was so dry – I felt like my face would crack if I smiled and my skin was really, really painful, red and sore.
I needed to change up my skincare routine.
I started with Avene – recommended to me by a Canadian girl, it is a French brand that uses thermal water as a main ingredient. I felt a difference almost immediately after using this product. I used the rich cream (but there is also a lighter one too!) and it transformed my skin.
Use all over my face, day and night and my skin was soon back to its happy self.
Another amazing product from this range is the moisture mask. You are supposed to apply this mask on thickly, leave for 15 minutes, then wipe off any excess. When I first applied it, my skin literally soaked it all up and there wasn’t much to wipe off. My skin was thirsty!
I now use this about once a week to keep my skin hydrated.
For a really hydrating feeling, I got the thermal spring water spray from La Roche Posay. It leaves your skin so refreshed and it is very gentle. I use this before my moisturizer for an extra boost of hydration.
One more product I added to my skin care routine was a facial oil. Don’t be alarmed- a facial oil will not give you spots or cause breakouts. There are so many on the market at the moment, but I cannot use Rose Oil as it really flares up and agitates my skin so I tend to avoid any brands with this in it. I am loving Dirty Works Facial Oil with a blend of argan, olive and vitamin E oil.
Apply before your moisturizer when going to sleep. I don’t apply this in the morning.
I honestly cannot tell you how much these products have helped my skin. When you move country and there is a dramatic climate change, you need to rethink your skincare products. I googled and googled different products and found no real answers or products reviews that i felt I could trust to deal with the condition this harsh weather was leaving my skin in. I trust these products and would recommend them to everyone.
