Weather, pollution and all the extra styling over the festive season can really damage hair so here are a few tips and products to help you keep your hair in great condition throughout these winter months!
1. Change your shampoo
This is really a simple trick. I change up my shampoo every month and it really stops your hair getting used to a product and also getting a product build up. Change up your shampoo and see an instant difference to your hair. For Winter, try use an extra moisturizing product.
2. Always condition
Even if you have oily hair, always condition. I only condition the tips of my hair and never the roots. This is what you should do especially if you are prone to oily hair. Your tips needs that etra nourishing because of the styling and the brushing that it goes through everyday.
3. Hair Mask
You should use a hair mask once a week to keep your hair nourished. I love the 3 minute miracle mask from Aussie. I also love the Pantene masks- it is really moisturising.
4. Moroccan Oil
This is my miracle product really. I cannot live without it. You can get a lighter dry oil spray if you find the oil itself is too heavy for you hair and weighing it down. Once you have washed and conditioned your hair, rub the Moroccan oil in the palms of your hands and massage it into the tips of your hair.
5. Use lukewarm water to wash your hair
Don’t use hot water to wash your hair; it can leave your hair dry, stripping natural oils from your hair and leave your scalp tight. Simple but very effective!
6. Leave in Conditioner
On night’s you are not going out or doing anything, why not try a leave in conditioner. Apply it all over your damp hair, pull it into a loose bun and let your hair dry naturally without blow drying. I love L’Oreal Elvive spray in conditioner.
7. Don’t over-style your hair
Boho chic is often hard to achieve in Winter and when it is cold outside let’s be honest, we are all blow drying our hair and we are not going out with damp hair. Instead of blow drying your hair and straightening it, blow dry your hair straight.
