Last week I was invited to attend an LA Creative (previously known as LA Make-Up Academy) taster course. The 2 hour event was hosted by celebrity make-up artist Natalie Kinsella, who has previously worked on  Roberto Cavalli, Vivian Westwood, D2squared and not to mention my favourite Alexander McQueen. Corina Gaffey, fashion editor of Stellar and Kiss magazine was also there to speak so you can imagine how excited I was to be invited!

I have worked with LA Creative before and I also completed a make-up course with them so I know the academy well. I must say though i was thoroughly impressed with the event. Natalie and Corina were amazing and I was so interested in what they had to say.

Not only did they do demonstrations, they spoke about their careers, how they got into it, courses they would recommend and gave tips on breaking into such a competitive industry. Natalie did two make-up demonstration’s on the stunning Laura Scanlon with both looks being styled by Corina.

The first look was a natural look with a strong brow and was styled for a “boy meets girl” look with a structured jacket and some feminine pearls.

The second look was a lot more dramatic where Natalie covered Laura’s skin with silver glitter (very Twilightesque!) and Corina kept the glittering theme by adding a sequin vintage jacket.

The amazing photographer Alex Hutchinson was on hand to take a few snaps!

I picked up so many tips from the night from both Natalie and Corina and I might just have to enroll in the Fashion Styling course that LA Creative now offer!

If you are interested in attending the next taster course, check out the app on their Facebook page where you can book your place!
