Never one to do things by half, Lagerfeld created Air Chanel today to host the fashion house’s couture show- complete with Air Chanel stewardesses, illuminated numbered seats and transparent roof to reveal faux clouds above.
The “flight” took off in “daytime” showcasing the day looks presented by Chanel which included simple shapes, stiff puffed sleeves and dropped waists.
The simple garments contrasted from the rest of the show as the attendees were taken through the night, with the “sky” growing darker to signal the evening collection. The evening collection was dominated with transparent chiffon and full length wool, boucle jackets, big puff sleeves and jewel buttons.
This was followed with sequins and embroidered cocktail dresses to knee length.
