20,000 pairs of fake Christian Louboutins have been seized by Los Angeles customs agents over the past month. The total retail value is estimated to be of £11.5 million ($18 million). That’s a lot of shoes!
The shipments came from China and LA Times have said that they thought to be destined for many of the fashion websites dedicated to selling counterfeits.
This is not the first time Christian Louboutin has been at the centre of controversy regarding his trademark red sole as he has battled in court (and lost) against YSL in order to stop the French fashion house designing shoes with the red sole. (Read more here)
